after a major update, it takes your phone a few days to relearn your usage patterns. in addition, your phone is trying to settle in with the new update. give it a bit. It also help to wipe your cache partition: Back up data on the internal memory. If you have signed into a Samsung account on the device, you have activated Anti-theft and will need your Samsung credentials to finish the master reset. With the device off, press and hold the Volume Up key first, then the Side key. Continue holding while the device powers on. When the Android logo displays, release all keys and wait until you get the Android system recovery menu options. Press Volume down to highlight Wipe data / factory reset, then press Side key to select it. Continue using the Volume down and Side keys to confirm your choice and agree to data deletion. When complete, highlight Reboot system now with the Volume down key and select it with the Side key.

I, for one, would be quite interested in a Samsung manufactured phone that ran Pixel. Google still hasn't figured out how to do hardware...or commit to long-term plans, either. I think it would sell.

long press on the Samsung Calendar app (for instance). I can see an uninstall option. you should be running on One UI 6.0, so the same should apply to you. the same long press action works on any app you have on your phone. that's how I quickly delete or disable Google apps that I don't use.

take a moment to notice that you can uninstall the native Calendar app, the native email app, the native calculator app, and so on. for those apps you can't uninstall, you can disable. of course, I use all of those apps, so they aren't quite the "bloat" you think they are. same for Google apps...I can uninstall a good number of them. those that I can't uninstall, I can disable. good luck.

I alternate between buttons and Google gestures. I alternate between Samsung Keyboard and SwiftKey. I alternate between Samsung Pass and Microsoft Authenticator for password managers. I try to have redundancies in place so if one platform or service goes down, I have an immediate alternative ready to go.

not sure what specifically you're referring to, but I can guess. go to: settings > lock screen and AOD > scroll all the way down to the bottom and select Edit Lock Screen. from there you can make a number of changes.

when your wife goes to make a calendar entry, tap on the highlighted section (see pic). it will open a pop-up which will allow her to select the appropriate calendar.

obviously, the account she wants to populate in Samsung Calendar is there. she's going to have to be careful, when making a calendar entry from her phone, to select the correct calendar. her device is set up properly.

refer to my post directly above. whether it's your wife's or yours is immaterial. you stated that when trying to add the address, you got the notification that it was already present. that tells me it's already in the Samsung Calendar app. that calendar toggle will appear at the very bottom of the list of calendars. also, it might be manifesting as an Exchange account (Microsoft Exchange Active Sync). Samsung Calendar > hamburger menu (top left) > scroll all the way down to the bottom > tap on Outlook and make sure that Calendar is on. another place to look: settings (phone) > accounts and backup > manage accounts > look to confirm that her account is already on the phone.

above, you said that you can make a calendar entry on your PC and it syncs to your Samsung Calendar app. go into the app, go into settings, and toggle off all calendars except for your Outlook. my suspicion is that when you've been making entries on your phone, you haven't noticed which account you're making them to.

are you referring to the Outlook desktop app on your PC, or do you use Outlook on the web. I'm not having the same problems as you are. make sure that when you're making calendar entries on the Samsung app, you're saving them in the Outlook calendar and not Google, Phone, Samsung Account. all of those are toggled on by default. I made that mistake before.

when you open SS, you'll see an icon of an SD card top right of the screen. tap that and it'll take you to the backup and restore options for that particular drive. obviously, I'm assuming you have your phone plugged into the external drive.

you don't install Smart Switch to the SSD/external drive. I perform a Smart Switch backup to my SSD every month for my phone, my bride's and my aunt's.

that simply doesn't make any sense, unless the backup was corrupted somehow. recently, I had to do a transfer of a phone for my aunt (her A14 to my S22U). her phone was so full, Smart Switch couldn't even fit on her device. I did a restore of her device from her Google and Samsung accounts......everything came over. she doesn't store music, videos, photos on her phone, but all her apps and settings did make the trip. start there then, perhaps, you can access the Smart Switch backup and bring over everything that didn't restore from Google and Samsung.
