Decide where you want to store your photos and make sure they are backed up in the cloud. Google Photos have backup function in the app and I believe One Drive too.

For example for Google messages app, you can tap and hold on messages app icon and then in the pop-up tap on the "i" mark. Then go to notifications and then tap on notification categories. In there tap on incoming messages wording. This will take you to another page, where you need to tap Sound and select what you want.

At least on the phone there is a do not disturb function and you can explicitly choose to receive(make the device notify you) calls and messages from contacts only. Others can still call but your phone wouldn't notify/ring. Maybe the watch can have similar options in settings.

Check your device for any software and app updates. Since you got it recently, there could be some bug fixes. Additionally, in the sound and vibration settings, when you go to ringtone, there is a + sign in the top right corner, which allows you to set a custom tone. At least worth a try

I have one app that shows up in Galaxy store as well. I believe this can happen when both stores offer the same app. Galaxy store says it can't auto update the app, but I can manually tap update button.

I would go to support tab in this app and then scroll down to "error reporting". This will take some logs and give you ability to write what the issue is.

If your old phone did the same and you transferred your data and settings to your new phone, it is possible that the issue got transfered as well. It could be a setting or an app that is responsible for this.

It should be T-Mobile if you have sim card from them. Check sim card first and if it isn't from t-mobile, then try to get that sim from someone you know or ask t-mobile store for a working sim and test while you are in the store.

If it has t-mobile sim card, then the phone is not correctly setup as such and this is the reason you are not getting updates. Normally when you insert sim card into the phone, it sets up according to the inserted sim card.
