One workaround: Turn off auto-update for apps in both the Play and Galaxy Stores. Go to SamMobile website, to their Downloads tab. Search for "Music" app, and download the .19 version (last without ads). Install. Enjoy. I'm still ditching Samsung as a result of what they've done though.

It's not an issue. Samsung says it "makes your flagship experience better," so you'd better get used to it. Ads have even been seen in OneUI itself, and it's just a matter of time before we all get that "feature."

Yup. They're losing me too. Been watching reviews of a Japanese competitor phone which seems to have amazing photography chops...and no ads in their apps. Just need to figure out what I'm going to do with the Note10+, and how well my Galaxy watches will work with that other phone. But yeah...Samsung went too far. I'll be losing all my Galaxy Store purchases, but it'll be worth it.

My biggest dilemma this year was going to be: Note20, or Fold 2? Samsung just lost this customer over this. Switching to Sony or Apple. According to every tech blog, Samsung is even bringing ads to OneUI! Your lock screen, notification shade, and EVERY first-party app is going to be serving ads. No way I'm paying $1500+ for that "feature." Samsung...you messed up; what were you thinking?! If you haven't already, make your voice heard on the Play Store ratings!

Two things I've tried since yesterday, after which my Watch is showing the battery life it used to: turned off "auto-switch" (I have a Watch and Active 2), and I kill Samsung Health every chance I get. The heart rate sensor seemed to be taking readings of my bedside table, so maybe that's been my issue. Or not. But so far, so good.

I reset my GW last night after a week of abysmal battery life all of a sudden. I did not restore any backups, so the watch is basically bone stock. Overnight, things looked promising: 2% used in 6 hours of no use on my bedside table, when I picked it up to check. But the next time I picked it up (still not used) the battery had plummeted to 60% in less than four hours. I charged it fully again and wore it for a couple of hours. Again, it was sipping battery, losing only a couple % in about three hours. Put it on a kitchen counter while I cooked, and came back two hours later to find it at 58%! The worse part is the HORRIBLE battery tracking available for the watch. It shows "Settings" as the number on culprit, but what the heck does THAT mean?! What is Settings doing to destroy the battery? Moderators should not be allowed to promote their answers as solutions, unless they really solve people's problems. If they don'tknow what they're talking about, they shouldn't comment. "Do a factory reset" is boilerplate nonsense.

This issue is due to a failure of camera components. It is a hardware issue. Any efforts to fix it through software are a placebo, and a waste of time. I'm not really sure why admin is soliciting phone details from people, unless they're working on behind-the-scenes repair set-ups.
If you are impacted by this defect, take the phone to your nearest uBreakiFix, a Samsung-authorized repair franchise. Most techs there are familiar with the issue by now. They will look at your phone, but likely have to order the new camera module. One week later, you'll take your phone back for the actual repair, which will take about 2-3 hours. The Note 9 is still under manufacturer's warranty, so the repair is free.
Conversely, you can also call Samsung Support and send the phone in to the repair center in TX. You'll be without your phone for about 7-10 days, but hopefully, the techs there will also be familiar with this failure, and replace the camera module.
My sister showed me her affected $1300 Note 9, and I was blown away by how awful the defect is. I told her about the uBiF route. She called, and they didn't even need to see her phone; "You need a new camera module. We've seen several of these." Her Note 9 is now FIXED, and she's a happy camper.

In case anyone else experiences this, I figures out there's a bug in the software.
I had Cortana set as default, but when I uninstalled her, the option to assign a default Assistant disappeared from Settings (that's why I cleared Settings, suspecting that it had hard-coded to Cortana, but clearing did nothing).
So...I reinstalled Cortana, and sure enough, the swipe gesture was already configured to her. All the other options reappeared in Settings as well.
Anyway, not sure if this issue was with cortana in particular, but if you see it with trying other assistants, now you know what to do.

The ability to assign a default Assistant app has disappeared from my phone. When I swipe up from home, all I see is a white circle that opens nothing.
Yes, I already cleared device cache.
Yes, I already deleted Settings cache and data.
Anyone else experiencing this?

You might not have noticed doing it, but that looks like impact damage. The screen splintering on its own would have zero effect on your speaker grille, and yours looks like a hot mess.

I think the Sound Assistant app will still let you set the level that warning turns on at, so you can at least avoid it until you Max it.

I tried to warn everybody about this Day 1 of preorders, but one of the mods thought I was being too negative.
Ordering through the Shop Samsung app DID NOT include the Buds in the order. If they weren't in the order, you weren't going to get them. Period. I was lucky to notice that (from previous experience with that app), placed an order through the actual website, and canceled the Shop order. All was well.
Search through my posts, and you should be able to find the post(s) where I discussed this issue with the app.
So here's what SHOULD happen now. Once you finally get through to customer service, they SHOULD give you a coupon equal to the cost of the Buds, to be used exclusively for the Buds. That's what they did for me when I didn't get the promo order with the last item I ordered through the app. You can even point them to this post to show this was a known app issue, which resulted in you not getting the promo.
And for future reference: DO NOT use the Shop Samsung app for orders of any kind.

The voice unlock thing is a Google thing; they killed it. Samsung, OTOH, still lets you do it with Bixby. As for some of your other issues, be sure to revisit app settings and see if everything is still set as you'd expect. You might want to check out some YouTubers like JimmyIsPromo and Sakitek; they have several how-to and tip videos for the new UI.

The fact that the ARL1 update specifically mentions camera stability is very reassuring. I have a Tmobile Note 9, so the update should drop by mid-January, going by historical experience. Tmobile is always a month behind.
