Samsung has no interest in this problem. I came across this forum in March/2018. I had several close calls with these burners being bumped and turned on. Luckily for me nothing has caught on fire and we haven’t lost anything of value. We had a glass platter and a trivet get burnt. We had a dish towel get scorched too. Samsung got in touch with me. Their story is the knobs are designed to turn easy and that is that. Near the beginning of this thread you will see where a couple posters posted a sort of home made fix with rubber grommets you can buy at Home Depot. I hate recommending this but it works. I have not had one accidental turn on. Please do yourself a favor if you are keeping this stove and put these grommets on behind the knobs. It will be a big load off your mind. It makes it harder to turn the knobs. It’s no inconvenience to me and it’s much safer. This cost me about 4 bucks to do. It’s a shame this company won’t stand up and do the right thing. Have you read this thread from the beginning? There is a temporary solution with some rubber grommets that can be purchased at a store like home depot. This stove is a very dangerous product. In the meantime I would recommend the grommet fix, it will take care of the problem for now. SAmsung will probably contact you for the model number and act like they are interested. They did to me, but in the end they told me the knobs were designed to turn easy and that’s that. Please do something or buy a different stove. Your lives and home depend on it.

Hello, sorry to hear about your issue. I too, as well as many others have had this too. First, I can tell you Samsung may reach out to you but it’s just a waste of your time unless you have a loss of money. They have told me the knobs were designed to turn easily. I hope you read back from the beginning of this thread. There is an easy fix described many times with some rubber grommets you can get at a Home Depot. I wound up doing this because this Crappy Samsung company is waiting for someone to die I guess and will not address this problem. I know this sounds stupid and I don’t like recommending this because I shouldn’t have to. It does work. When these grommets are put on the knob has to be pushed in with more effort and turned. It’s not easily turned on. I have not had another issue since doing this, except now I hate anything with Samsung’s name on it. These are pretty inexpensive. Glad to hear there was no injury or death or burned down house. There has been so many close calls posted here. I know it’s going to be just a matter of time until we read about a catastrophe. I hope you will look into those grommets we've been discussing. They will eliminate the very easy turn on. This company SAMSUNG has no interest in this problem. In fact, they told me the knobs were designed to turn that easy. Please check out those grommets, very easy cheap fix, or look into a different oven manufacturer. You are correct about SAMSUNGs uncaring attitude. I’m glad you have those grommets ordered. You’ll have to push the knob in a little bit harder to turn it but it’s well worth the effort and it will never turn on so easy. I can’t believe how lucky we were to discover the accidental turn ons we had before something terrible happened, and there were several times. We’ve had none since the grommets were put on. Don’t look for them to ever step up. They’ve contacted me once and told me the knobs were designed to turn easily. Please check into the grommet fix that is posted earlier in this thread. It will help, it’s about 4 bucks. Your knobs will be harder to turn but they won’t be bumped on easily and risk of your lives and home. Good luck to you, be safe.

Sorry to hear your first day in your home was almost a disaster. I hate to keep recommending those grommets but they do work and will definitely give you some peace of mind. This crappy company SAMSUNG should step up already, it shouldn’t be up to their customers to come up with temporary fixes for their products while they say or do nothing. It’s making sick knowing there will be a catastrophe at some point. Good luck to you, and please check into the grommets that some of us have used. I’m glad you got them. That should help immensely. You are correct, SAMSUNG should be ashamed. I mention in almost every post I make that they lost a customer, there will never be another SAMSUNG product in my home. Hi, the 9/32 is the size of inside diameter of the hole in the grommet. I looked on homedepot website and it appears they don’t carry the brand pictured earlier in this thread anymore. Here is a link to the grommet they now carry at Homedepot. If you get on the HD site and choose your store and type 811998 in the search box the product will show and it will give you the aisle and bay location of this part at the store. They were in the hardware section at my store. Give that rubber grommet fix that is described earlier in this thread a try. It’s only about 4 bucks at homedepot and helps. For some reason Samsung would rather roll the dice and take a chance. There will be a fire and loss of life someday. People find this thread just like I did, searching for a solution to a very unsafe product. Welcome to the club. They will probably reach out to you like they are concerned and turn it over to a special team that will tell you the knobs are designed to turn easy. It’s a waste of your time unless you have damages. This company should be ashamed to operate like this. That being said, the safety of you or your family is #1. Check into safety profucts for the knobs or look at earlier posts in this forum that describe a fix with rubber grommets. I did this and it works, I really hate to recommend it, mostly because Samsung should step up and take care of this. The next choice and probably best is to get rid of the crappy oven, that’s what I’m trying to do. I’ve stated this before, I will never own another Samsung product. Good luck and please be safe. They respond to you but let me tell you what they will do. Nothing! If you’ve had damage they may look into a claim. They told me the knobs were designed to turn easy, that is that. Period. Please do yourself a favor, look into safety knobs, or there is also a grommet fix that seems to be working and only cost 4 bucks to do it. Your family’s safety depends on it. There are many complaints on this forum and they are not being addressed. I find it unbelievable SAMSUNG will not come up with a solution to this. Howard / Former Samsung customer.

Hey Wendy. Just to let you know Samsung did call me. It seems these knobs were designed to turn easily and that is that. They asked me if I had ant damages. My answer was no. I guess if there was monetary damages they would look into a claim. I told the person they wasted my time and unfortunately my house didn’t burn down. As you, I was a big fan of Samsung products, two televisions, refridgerator and oven. I was looking to get a microwave but there will never be another Samsung product in this house. These ovens will kill somebody eventually. Wendy, please look into tjose grommets as a temporary aid for you and your familys safety.

I hope they reach out to you on this board. They did to me and someone is supposed to contact me this week. From all the posts here it doesn’t seem like they feel there is a problem. In the meantime you should check that grommet repair that mpcolorado posted. They’re about a buck apiece at Home Depot and does require more effort to turn the knob. After installing those I tried many ways to bump the knob and was not able to turn it on by bumping. Good luck.

I stumbled across this forum searching for a solution to this problem. We have had this accidental turn on happen several times. Luckily we always discovered it quickly. Samsung should address this. There is no doubt in my mind that lives will be lost someday due to this problem. Thank you mpcolorado for this helpful solution. I went Homedepot and purchased these grommets.
