Instead of foldable screen, why not 2 separate solid pieces? Angle cuts on the joining sides so the two pieces of glass marry with a very fine line. I'd be more than happy to see a hairline across the middle (which I imagine I'd eventualy learn to ignore), instead of risking an eventual crease/spidercrack.
