Also having a weird keyboard problem, but bigger problems distracted from focus. I start to type something, and a phrase from a previous message shows up, like auto fill gone psycho. It doesn't happen with any predictability

Model SM-G965U
Baseband G965USQS3CSAG
Hardware version REV 1.1
Unlocked phone, Mint Mobile carrier.
When the screen times out & goes dark, Music Choice app goes silent. 5 minutes of music, that's it. I don't have the weather app that affected another user's phone. I don't have any other music app. It's as if the app stops unless the screen is active. Have been falling back to my s7 Active & am wondering if I should return this phone & stick with that one. There are too many variables among all the users here with the same problem. Doesn't anyone test new phones with real world use before they're released?

Set your chosen browser as the default. I went to Applications & Samsung Internet. I unpermissioned everything I could I deleted the cache, then data. In the upper right corner are 3 dots. Click on those & choose "uninstall updates". It will ask if you want to replace it with the factory version, and yes, you do. Then go to the folder on one of your screens which contains the Samsung apps (on mine it's next to the Google & deceased AT&T folders). Open this and click on "Galaxy Apps". It will open to offered programs, much like Google Play. Go to the same upper 3 dots right side, click on them. Choose "disable automatic updates". Do the same in the Play Store. I now no longer have Samsung Internet listed in my applications. Samsun Pay is also sized down to a couple hundred kb's. If I don't use it, why give it space? Can't do anything with Samsung Pay Framework though. Keep getting the error message "this app is required by your device administrator and can't be uninstalled". But if you click on "Manage Device Administrators" at the bottom of the page, the only thing it leads to is "Find My Device". This says it can lock or erase a lost device. Doesn't say anything about actually finding it. But, no more Samsung Internet! I can't take credit for this solution. I read it somewhere else, don't even remember where, maybe an Android forum. But with all the automatic updates disabled, check every week or more to make sure you're not missing important updates.

Also have this problem. Have a G2, connected to a Samsung s7 Active. I use the stairs at least 20 times a day. Yet one time a flight of stairs I actually registered! I came to the forums for a different, pressing problem, but found yet another problem I'm having, here. I thought "hey, at least I can solve this problem", but it turns out there's no solution in this entire thread! Not one person who said wiping out all their data helps.

@userPfOle55LNt wrote: First go to sittings stop samsung internet ,then go to play store find samsung internet app uninstall. After don't update leave it than is don't work internet and notification . I did this, but the only option was to uninstall updates to Samsung Internet. So it's still on my s7 Active, with automatic updates disabled. Instead of occupying 152MB's, it's now reduced to 148MB.

Somehow I don't think all these people are using the same carrier, and it happened after the last update, so I'm not inclined to thing all the carriers got together, wrote a common snippet of code to mess with Samsung phones. More likely something in the update behaves badly with code common with cell providers? Looks like I'm not updating until this is sorted out. I have enough phone problems. Is it possible to restore your phone(s) from a backup, to a pre update OS? If you have one it might be an idea to do this until all the kinks are worked out.

That hasn't been my experience. I use both the stock messaging app and What's App. I use both Firefox (default), and Chrome on my phone. I never used the Samsung Internet app, though I might have opened it once, thought this looked like too much work for duplication of resources, and closed it. I later disabled it, but it still bloates its way through 142 Mb of internal memory. The app shows I have 2 notifications despite it being disabled, but I'm not even looking at it. When I get a link through messaging it opens in Firefox. Have you set your preferred browser as the default under its listing in Application Manager?

@usert7xSzTjopn wrote: Post from userCgvwOC7V18 worked!! ie. You can uninstall app via ADB without root, write command adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sec.android.app.sbrowser Thank you for sharing. This worked on Samsung S5. Thank you. Now I just have to download ADB, learn to work with it, then be able to delete the unused browser.

I'm heading into rooting, though I'm not an expert user. I've had my Samsung s5 since 2014 so by now it's mine. I like the phone & I'm not upgrading because I like the option of swappable batteries. But the bloatware is a killer! The phone is a 15 Gb phone, with almost 1 Gb of space swallowed up by apps I don't use! If this keeps going the way it's going, I'm eventually going to have a phone with no space for anything but the basic phone, messages, and bloatware. What's the point? If I wanted nothing but phone and messages I would have keep my old Motorola flipphone.
