I'm not sure who accepted this as a solution, but it most definitely is NOT. When a watch, brand new out of the box cannot properly count floors (as mine and many others did), clearing the cache and all data (thus requiring your to set it back up with your phone again) is absolutely worthless. @SamsungJace wrote: Thank you for the information. @SamsungAdam wrote: Can I please get your full model number, baseband version, Bluetooth or LTE, the device your watch is paired with as well as the Android version on the device? Dozens and dozens of people have answered this question in the last year (in all of the various threads about this issue) and I have yet to see a Mod come back with any meaningful response to them. Spoiler alert: *Nothing* about the phone manufacturer, model, baseband version, Android version, or any other specification of the phone matters. It is the *watches* that can't count floors properly.

@userc8sbscR9Kw wrote: Will someone let me know if Samsung is addressing this issue. If I don't hear any thing back soon I will be returning my watch for a refund. Samsung hasn't acknowledged the issue, much less do anything about it. The thread that I originally found that is specific to the Gear Sport ( https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/wearabletech/page/1/thread-id/21176 ) was started in January 2018 - so basically a year ago - and there's been nothing but silence from Samsung.

@zoltar_speaks wrote: I am confused. I just purchased the Galaxy Watch and have the same issues with the Floor count being useless. I was going to try to disable the workout autodetect as suggested here but nowhere can I find these options talked about here. Welcome to the party - the thread at https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearable-Tech/Gear-Sport-Floor-Count-no-correct/m-p/256376/highlight/true#M21176 shows that this has been an issue for the Gear Sport for nearly a year. If you search the forums, you'll find it's an issue for dozens of us with various Samsung watches. In addition to this thread and the link above, here are just a few other threads: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearable-Tech/Gear-S3-not-Counting-Floors/m-p/65970/highlight/true#M6690 and https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearable-Tech/Gear-S3-not-Counting-Floors/m-p/65970/highlight/true#M6690 and https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Other-Mobile-Devices/Gear-S3-Inaccurate-Floor-Count/m-p/234331/highlight/true#M7328

@SamsungAdam wrote: Could you please provide me with the full model code, baseband version, Bluetooth or LTE, the device the watch is pair with, the android version, and the discrepancy amount? Dozens have responded to previous requests like your's above - myself included - and that's the last we ever hear from a Samsung Mod. It clearly doesn't matter. I'm going to recommend you see @userUuPtK0xKzz's post above, but quoting here for you as well: Plase stop asking for model numbers. It seems to be on EVERY watch! Instead of annoying us users by asking model numbers and even sending in the watch for repair Samsung should do the following: 1. Confirm that there is a bug in this product. 2. Announce a data for a reliable fix. Either a software update or a hardware replacement. And then see my post from September 21, 2018 (at https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearable-Tech/Galaxy-Watch-not-counting-floors/m-p/396553/highlight/true#M36256 😞 This is a long-standing issue that apparently permeates across all of Samsung's watches. It is not specific to one watch or the settings of that watch. It also has nothing to do with what type of phone you connect your watch to (the favorite question of the Samsung Mod's who "try" to help with this issue). It's a core flaw. If you've got the time, there are plenty of posts about this https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearable-Tech/Gear-S3-not-Counting-Floors/m-p/65970/highlight/tr... https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/wearabletech/highlight/false... https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearable-Tech/Gear-S3-not-Counting-Floors/m-p/65970/highlight/tr... https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Other-Mobile-Devices/Gear-S3-Inaccurate-Floor-Count/m-p/234331/h...
