I can not find a post related to this so must be new or I am only one with this problem. I bought a 128GB Lexar USB thumb drive to supplement the 128GB built-in to my Galaxy S21 Plus. I formatted the thumb drive on my Windows 10 laptop as a exFAT file system and loaded with my entire music library. The Lexar device worked for a hour or two before I got an "USB device was unexpectedly removed." My thumb drive was still plugged in so that didn't make any sense. I restarted my phone and had the same issue again. I already took to Google and discovered that Google had made changes to how data is accessed by app in Android. I also tried to use both YouTube Music and Samsung Music to play my MP3s, neither had options for USB storage. I'm disappointed that the thumb drive has not worked sense the smartphone makers are trending towards eliminating SD card slots entirely without including enough internal storage in its place. Using a USB flash drive like the I purchased should have been a solution but so far it isn't working.
