Why are you no longer supporting your own Samsung SmartThings components? I was wanting to make my home a smart home with Samsung Buttons, Bulbs, and Sensors. I have the Hub, some bulbs, and some buttons currently. But by the time I started looking into expanding, that section of your site was empty! Why did you stop making your own SmartThings devices?

It's a beautiful device. I'm pretty annoyed with the Samsung apps though, like the camera being integrated with gallery instead of google photos. Managing a samsung account shouldn't be required for basic functions IMO but it's probably pretty seamless for past galaxy users

Hi Community Members-
We would like to introduce you to the newly launched Samung AR Canvas - a place where you can bring your creativity to life... in Augmented Reality!
Samsung AR Canvas provides fun features to decorate the space around you with AR content. You can use 3D text, brushes, scans of 2D picture, GIF stickers, and gallery photos as AR creation tool and decorate space with AR! By saving the space and/or scene, it will be anchored in that place and kept for 30 days. Next time you can visit the place and bring it back for viewing and editing.
Decorate a certain space or leave a message in a specific place, and bring it back again! In your favorite café, now you can leave the scribble “I love this place” in AR. You can even fill the wall with pictures of your favorite athletes or idols in your room (hmmm.. what would this look like here?). uBreakiFix and Samsung Launch ‘Erase E-Waste Challenge’ to Encourage Electronics Recycling
ORLANDO, Fla.—March 11, 2021—In an effort to raise awareness for the environmental impact of electronic waste (e-waste), uBreakiFix and Samsung have launched the Erase E-Waste Challenge, a 6-week initiative encouraging consumers to sort through their unused electronics and recycle unwanted devices for free at uBreakiFix by Earth Day.
E-waste poses major health and environmental risks, as discarded devices are often burned or dumped in landfills. Recycling old electronics not only keeps harmful chemicals out of the air and land, it also allows for precious metals like gold, silver, and copper to be harvested and reused at a lower carbon footprint.
Since 2008, Samsung has been a strong supporter of extended producer responsibility, taking tremendous effort to collect and recycle e-waste and publicly supporting requirements that would ban the export of unprocessed e-waste to developing locations. By partnering with uBreakiFix, Samsung has made electronics recycling even more accessible, leveraging uBreakiFix’s network of more than 570 stores across the U.S.
“Most people have some sort of shoebox, junk drawer, or storage closet where they stash their old tech,” said uBreakiFix President and Co-founder Justin Wetherill. “A lot of people don’t know where they can go or what they can do with their old devices, and they assume that dealing with them will be a hassle. What we don’t want is for those devices to eventually end up in the trash and in a landfill somewhere. Samsung is a leader in sustainability solutions, and we’re excited to help further its efforts by making tech recycling more widely available to consumers. We’re challenging everyone to join us in this initiative and look forward to seeing the impact we can have by Earth Day and beyond.” Those looking to part ways with their old tech can bring eligible devices of any brand, make, or model to their local uBreakiFix store, and a professional repair technician will handle the rest. uBreakiFix will process the devices and route them to a Samsung-authorized recycling partner where they will be refurbished or processed into raw commodities for future reuse. The recycling partner will take steps to destroy all stored data from devices in accordance with the e-Stewards standard, and for added peace of mind, uBreakiFix recommends consumers proactively wipe personal data from devices before recycling when possible.
uBreakiFix accepts most everyday tech devices for recycling, including cell phones, tablets, computers, printers, game consoles, wearables, and more. For a full list of eligible devices, visit https://www.ubreakifix.com/blog/reduce-reuse-recycle-ubreakifix .
Those who recycle with uBreakiFix can also request a free tech check on any device, such as their smartphone or laptop, to learn how to make their favorite devices last as long as possible.
“At uBreakiFix, reducing e-waste starts with educating consumers about their options so they can make informed decisions about their tech,” Wetherill said. “For us, repair is more than fixing a cracked screen; it’s about making our customers’ tech last longer so they can upgrade when they want to, not because they feel they have to. If a device is beyond repair, or if a consumer no longer has a need for it, we can now take those devices off their hands and responsibly recycle them with the help of our partners at Samsung.”
For devices still in good working order, uBreakiFix encourages consumers to explore opportunities to upcycle by gifting, preserving, repurposing, or donating them.
“Though we are inviting our customers to rally behind this cause in honor of Earth Day, we do offer tech recycling year-round,” Wetherill said. “We hope the Erase E-Waste Challenge will bring greater awareness to the need for tech recycling, as well as the widespread availability of drop-off locations at uBreakiFix stores across the U.S.”
Free tech recycling is available at participating uBreakiFix locations in the U.S. To find a uBreakiFix location near you, visit ubreakifix.com/locations.

When you purchase a Samsung Galaxy device, the first thing you’ll do is probably set up a Samsung account.
A Samsung account is equipped with strong security features to keep your information safe, and benefits you by providing a range of convenient features. These include: Syncing data in the device with Samsung Cloud to back up and restore data, finding your device, access to Galaxy Apps, Samsung Pay, and much more.
Setting up Two-step verification on your account is a great way to keep all your information safe.
If you use your Samsung account on multiple Galaxy devices, or if you have important data in the cloud, we highly recommended setting up Two-step verification.
Click here to set up two-step verification
Step by step guide to set up Two-step verification
Go to Settings, then tap your profile image in the top right corner of the screen.
Go to Password and security, then tap Two-step verification.
Verify the phone number you will use to receive verification codes.
After setting up Two-step verification, when you sign into your Samsung account, you will need to enter the verification code you receive to your phone number. Your phone number can only be used by you, this feature maximizes your account’s security.
Sign in process:
1) Enter ID and password.
2) Confirm the verification code sent to your phone.
3) Input the verification code and sign in.
You can select ‘Skip Two-step verification’ on the device you are using to sign in. Once this device is chosen as a trusted device, you will not need to complete the Two-step verification process on this particular device. This is more convenient for you but still the same amount of security for your account.
How to receive a verification code
Your Samsung account will provide more than one option to receive a verification code. These options include: receiving a code via SMS, using a backup code, and using an authentication app (For example: Microsoft Authenticator)
Even if you do not have the same phone number that you originally registered, you lose your mobile phone, or if you are not receiving the SMS, you will still be able to access your account with one of the options provided. Feel free to choose your preferred method of verifying your account.
There will be new features that are provided through updates that allow you to register up to three phone numbers that can receive the verification code via SMS. These devices must already be signed into your Samsung account.
Tips on password protection
In order to keep your information safe, don’t forget to frequently update your passwords in addition to using the Two-step verification feature, and do not use the same ID and password in multiple services.
[5/7, Additional Updates]
Two-step verification is only compatible with devices that have: Samsung Account Version: 2.2.03-47 and higher OS version: 7.0 and higher
