Samsung

I sent my tablet to Samsung for service a week and a half ago (roughly). I got an email that they had received it last Tuesday. I got another email that they had received it last Wednesday. I was unable to use the links in the email to check the repair status because evidently the system wasn't working correctly. I used the online chat service to get a status and was told that it would be repaired and sent back and that I'd be notified. The next email I got was yesterday, saying that my tablet was being shipped back, which I thought was fine. As I was looking at the email I noticed a comment re:  Problem found: REACTIVATION LOCK TRIGGERED This is my first Android tablet. I've been an iPad users for many years, but Apple's messing up so I came to Samsung because I've owned many quality Samsung monitors, 3 on my desk right now, and I figured they'd have the same high quality tablets. I didn't recognize "REACTIVATION LOCK TRIGGERED", so I asked Professor Google. I got a summary that didn't make sense in the context of repair, so I called Samsung support.  I was told by the VERY helpful Samsung rep that my tablet was sent from the initial repair team to a quality control/verification team, and they were unable to confirm the tablet functionality because reactivation lock had been triggered. I was also told that since I hadn't provided the information needed (google account) to resolve the issue, they had just shipped the tablet back to me. I had been checking my emails daily, and hadn't seen anything other than the previously mentioned emails. While on the call with the rep, I searched my email again and confirmed I had NOT received an email asking for google account information.   At that point I got angry. As it was explained to me, the tablet was being shipped back to me to verify what they had done worked because they couldnt verify it due to the factory lock. Since Samsung had NOT sent an email to me, I can only assume they didn't want to take the time to draft an email, and just dumped my tablet in a box to get rid of the problem.  If anyone can explain a more logical reason for this, or perhaps some justification for these actions being BAU, I'd appreciate it.   BTW, I was planning on switching all of my family's devices (5 ipads, 4 iphones) to Samsung. I'm reconsidering my decision because while Apple may be running things in the background on my devices and they took away the ability to check the processes, at least they've never done anything like what it seems Samsung has for a device repair.  ... I received an email after I shipped my tablet to Samsung. The email had a sentence:  For real time repair status, please click the Repair Self Tracking button on the right.   When I clicked the designated button, the URL to which I was directed changed from https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/tracking to https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/.  The latter page is evidently the home page, where one submits/creates a ticket. I couldn't determine where to ENTER the case number I'd been sent "For real time repair status".  I tried in a second browser, same issue. I got tired of Apple running things in the background on my tablets. Ever since they removed the ability to see background procs all of my tablets began running more slowly. I decided to go with an Android tablet, and since Samsung makes my favorite monitors, I went with the Galaxy View. This tab was for personal/play, so I bought a used one for $450. As a matter of policy, I always factory reset used devices. On the view, I got a message: E:failed to mount /preload. (No such file or directory).   Since I'm new to Android devices, and Professor Google didn't help, I figured I'd ask the experts. Is the message important (i.e. evil hackersaurus embedded malware and my tablet's going to take over the Tri-State Area), or not so important (i.e. /preload's gone because it ran off to join the circus).  ...
