Was this maybe part of update 1361? I most definitely was not able to reliably use the ARC port with my Onkyo receiver and it definitely did not pass anything more than DD 5.1. I also previuosly had the other issue that's been plaguing everyone in other topics about how ARC simply wasn't working with external receivers very well, forcing us to resort to using the optical cable. That, too, has gone away. I guess I'm appealing to any experts here to confirm if they know what changes were made in update 1361 that would allow my receiver to play DD+/Atmos content from my 2019 QN65 TV.

I may be confusing eARC with something else, but after the 1361 update in July on my QN65, the pesky Netflix audio issue was fixed (finally!) and my native Samsung apps like Plex, NetFlix and Amazon do pass the ATMOS content to my Onkyo receiver via the ARC port. Now, my only caveat is that my setup is currently only 7.1 (no ceiling speakers). Prior to this update, that was not the case. My Onkyo would natively play Atmos content from those same apps on my Apple TV box, but not when piping from the TV thorugh the ARC. The splash page of shows/movies on the Samsung Netflix app would only show the 5.1 indicator while my Apple TV Netflix app would show the Atmos logo on the same splash page. My recveiver is also indiciating it's picking up the 7.1 discreet channels. My understanding was that eARC is required for passing audio with more than 5.1 channels from the TV apps to an external receiver or soundbar. And, the Samsung TV apps would also not display the Atmos logo either if the TV couldn't pass it. If that's not true, then how/why am I now able to get Atmos audio passed from TV to Onkyo?
