I agree about the MST function 100%!! I've used it in so many places where the cashier was astounded, or told me to hold it over the NFC reader, instead. They're typically blown away that the mag stripe reader communicates with the watch! I love my S3 Frontier. I'm frustrated that one BIG box chain, Walmart, has chosen to deny Samsung and Google pay. It's worked just fine for several years, and now, chain-wide, it either doesn't, or soon won't. A cashier said Walmart was issuing their own card to take our money through, perhaps like Target's card that debits our bank acct, and pockets the card transaction fee, while also "giving" you a 5% discount, while they, then, sell your buying habits to advertisers. MST is great, and far more universally accepted, over NFC. Now, if I could just find a gas pump that worked w/ my Frontier!

Yep. same here. Elsewhere on this board explained a workaround that is reliable on my S3 Frontier. Please try this before sending it back to Samsung: use BOTH the Back AND the Home keys, TOGETHER for all Home button functions. If the watch is off, simply hold both buttons (like you would have) until you see the splash screen. Once rebooted, while holding the Back button, tap Home for any functions you need the Home button to access. To turn off, just hold both again until you get the Reboot screen. I really think that this is a software glitch, and only Samsung will be able to figure that out, I suspect -if they're even interested. If it is, in fact, a software problem, then THEY broke our watches! It's a viable workaround until I have to send it back to Samsung for a genuine battery replacement, button repair and proper re-sealing the waterproof case. Good luck! PLEASE let me know if this works for you.

Useless advice! I wasted a whole morning doing this, and then reloading all the apps that don't come back via Samsung Backup (!). The first problem with your suggestion is that THE POWER BUTTON (by itself) DOESN'T DO *ANYTHING*! One cannot reboot the watch (save killing the battery -and then you can't turn ut back on BECAUSE THE HOME BUTTON IS DEAD. What I've discovered is that all the Home Button functions (including Reboot) work IF YOU TAP (or hold) BOTH BUTTONS TOGETHER. -Sorry for the yelling, but maybe I got your attention. Others have found that this approach works, and expert moderators have been trained to simply tell people to reset to factory or go to Recovery, as you do here. No one who has reported this problem has reported that it fixed it. No one. All over the boards this "no Home" button is being reported, and is either a bad software glitch, or, as someone reported, perhaps the Back Button is completing a necessary ground connection that Home no longer does. After all, that key gets used a lot! That could well be it, as my Home Button became intermittent for weeks, before it ceased to function. But it got cranky after the previous software update, as well. Please TRY using the two-button workaround until you have to send it back to Samsung for a battery replacement AND a button fix. I really hope this workaround makes your S3 function again.
