Mine broke (hairline crack). I didnt notice it until my 14 day return period expired. Return the junk if you can, and contact your state AG. I got mine fixed that route after they attempted to force me to pay $117 to repair it. Here is Samsungs response to my AG. They will probably just remove it again because they, like the Trump admin, want to hide the truth. Dear Mr. Gantt: We have received the consumer correspondence filed with your office by Mr. Luke ****** regarding his Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and respond as follows. Thank you for giving Samsung an opportunity to respond to Mr. ******’s concerns. We are proud of our products and customer service, and are eager to hear customer feedback so we can improve our customer satisfaction. After receiving the above-referenced Washington Office of the Attorney General correspondence, we promptly contacted Mr. ******* to address his concerns. On or about July 9, 2020, Mr. ***** accepted our offer of a free-of-charge out-ofwarranty repair for his phone. We therefore consider this matter resolved. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. If you contact us, please refer to our file number: ********. Sincerely, Gabriel Ramos Litigation Paralegal g.ramos@partner.sea.samsung.com

you have 14 days. Outside of that? I got mine fixed by samsung. I had to complain to my state AG. They called Samsung and then Samsung called me and said they would fix it. EVERYONE needs to file a report with their state AG. It is the only way to get Samsung to do anything. Here is the response to my AG from Samsung. Along with an email for their legal dept. Not sure a paralegal can help though. Nice Samsung removed the rest of my post!! It was their response to the AG regarding my complaint. Nice edit to hide the truth SAMSUNG. <edit>

I believe you. The round hole is clearly directly over the moving lens. The lens broke the glass is what I suspect. Before you go to small claims court, go to the BBB and your state AG. I just got a call from samsung saying they received a call from the AG and would fix the phone, no charge. I did have a separeate issue that I sent it in for. The finger print sensor barely worked, didn't matter how many times I redid it or what finger I used, it would fail 1/3rd the time. Even when registering the fingerprint it could barely read it. But they refused to repair that because of the broken camera lens. I called BS and suspected that they cannot invalidate a warranty for some other unrelated issue. Just like a car complany cannot invalidate your power train warranty because you dented the fender.

Report this to the BBB and your state AG. I just got a call from Samsung saying they would fix the phone free of charge after they received a call from Washington State AG. MAKE A HUGE STINK. If we all make a huge stink then they will relent. I had sent it in for the finger print sensor failing constantly, and they refused to fix that without me paying for the back of the phone to be fixed (my hairline crack was not even across lenses, and was inconsequential).

Well like I beat Chrysler with the law, I beat Samsung. I sent my cracked camera glass phone in for warranty repairs because the finger print sensor barely worked. They called and said they would do the warranty work, but only if I paid to replace the back of the phone. I told them no, I just want the finger print sensor repaired. They insisted that they could not just repair that, but that the back of the phone needed to be replaced. I reluctantly said ok. They had basically blackmailed me. I started thinking, wait, a car warranty isn't invalidated because of a scratch, why would a phone warranty be voided because of unrelated damage. So I contacted the BBB, then the state AG. I received a call from Samsung yesterday saying that they got contacted by the AG and would be fixing the phone free of charge. I will see if that includes the cracked camera glass. Moral of the story, make a huge stink, and get the AG and BBB involved. Make it so it costs them big just to respond to the official complaints.

The hairline cracks. Which I got, I believe may be due to temperature or slight pressure on the glass, but those holes, which always seem to appear over a lens, makes me think the lens is actually causing the damage. I bet they put the glass too close to the movable lenses and that is what is happening with the bullet hole pictures I've seen.

Spigen will NOT protect your phone. I had a S7 display cracked while in a Spigen case and a drop onto a wood floor. Spigen's warranty, which they like to imply covers the phone, only covers the case, and even then only if you have a receipt.

I'll tell you how to beat them in court. I beat Chrysler in small claims court for a "peeler" paint job. The key is to subpoena all records they have of people claiming the damage. Since Chrysler showed up to court without the required subpoena they judge immediately ruled in my favor, and they repainted the Jeep. This strategy will work for Samsung as well, because they will NEVER detail how many people claimed this flaw. I got the subpoena approved by saying I needed records to show that they knew there was a problem.

I actually bought this phone because of a GREAT experience with the S7 Edge. Samsung lost me as a customer with this debacle though. The phone had a barely working finger print scanner also (along with face unlock that NEVER works). I reprogrammed it over and over, didn't matter which finger, it would 30% of the time not recognize it. When setting up the finger print scanner it kept saying push harder, but even pushing hard it could barely read my prints. If I pushed any harder i'd have a broken display!

I tried to get Verizon to take it back. They refused since I had not seen the flaw until 4 weeks after purchase. They said they wouldn't even take it back if I had been in the 14 days though because they too would say they have no way of knowing that I didn't break it. Sounds like the only way to get a refund from Verizon would be to check the phone IN THE STORE immediately after purchase, and go over it with a magnifying glass since this hairline crack is barely visible, and not visible at all if you need readers.
