Next time you have the twin cool cover off, take your thermostat off and check for continuity, then put it in freezer till about 10 degrees then check for continuity again. If it shows continuity at room temp or is intermittently working it needs replacing. New ones from amazon are less then 30 dollars and easy to replace. It should show continuity at cold temps as it's trying to call for heat and should read nothing when it's warm. Your problem could be more complex like the mother board or something else but this is a cheap and easy fix for diyers with a ohm meter

Hesitant to share my fix as it's only been 3 weeks Like others on this forum my samsung rf260beaser started to ice up soon after the warrenty expired. I took the evaporator cover off saw an ice dam in the drain and concluded that was the problem so did the fix with a longer piece of copper wire to keep drain clear, this didn't work. Went searching on internet and saw some outragous attempts to fix the icing. In the meantime, every few months I'd have to defrost and try something else like moving sensor, attach a wire from defrost heater to wrap around that area in your picture and a few other things. All my attemps failed. Because fridge was so new never occured (brain fart) to me to check the defrost heater, sensor(dead) and the thermostat while exposed. My last attempt, I put in a new thermostat and sensor and after 3 weeks don't see frost yet. Let me know if this works for anyone else because if this works, it's not a hard or expensive fix compared to deicing all the time. If you own a volt ohm meter it's simple to test these three components yourself. I'll give fridge a couple more weeks and take back off to see if it's permanent or throwaway pos. I'm replying to multiple post to share what I did will know for sure in a few weeks.
