That, again depends on the carrier. In the case of VZW, they, meaning Verizon, modify Samsung's updates and then they VZW release the update. This applies to both locked & unlocked Samsung phones.

Not correct The following i. s the way it is: "From phone calls (alot) I was told updates are the responsibility of your service provider. Samsung release the updates to them, then the carrier tweaks it to fit them. So I'm suggesting you call T mobile and ask, or Google it"

This screen capture of another posters post is the same as the one I get when trying to wipe my cache partition. Cannot get there with volume and power buttons. No other apparent related issues.

If it works, it 's OK. But to satisfy yourself, use a hair dryer at it's lowest heat setting for a few minutes. Do not let the device get hot.
