I'm the original thread creator, and i can now confirm that running 240 hz, G-sync, 10bit in Assassins Creed Valhalla works perfectly! Great find! Firmware 1008.1 solved it. So much for samsungs "reach out to Nvida about this"....right....

When i first posted this i also reported it to Nvidia. It's a known bug at Nvidia as well. You guys can read more here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/400102/-/ [GeForce RTX 3080/3090]: Samsung G9 49” display goes black at 240 Hz. [3129363]

Hi, I managed to get my hands on a Zotac RTX 3080 yesterday, but as soon as i installed the drivers i got a blank screen. It turns out that if i try to use 240hz the screen goes blank. The monitor still recognizes a signal, but it comes up black. Bascically if i switch to 240hz, the screen goes black, and i have to factory reset the monitor to get an image on the screen again (defaulting back to 120hz). After hours of trouble shooting i switched back to my old 2080 ti and it works right away! What i have done / tried: Updated Nvidia Driver 456.38. Multiple re-installs. I just updated my firmware to 1005.4 and then to 1006.2 (from Korean site) I am using the included G9 DisplayPort cable but i've tried 2 other cables, same result. I do NOT have HDR on It does not matter if Active sync is enabled on the monitor, or if G-sync is enabled in the Nvidia Control panel. Another thing is that it doesn’t let me select a 10 bpc color depth even at 120hz. This also works just fine with my old RXT 2080ti card. I'm not sure if this problem is caused by Nvidia or Samsung, but since 5120x144@240hz requires DSC (Display stream compression) to work, i suspect it's something that have changed on the new 3000 series card's that causes the monitor to malfunction. Any suggestions or help is very very welcome :)
