To my knowledge, you cnot change the batteries. If it's still under warranty, send it for repair. If it's no longer under warranty, you csn take it to any phone repair place.

At some point, it just stopped happening, i assume it was fixed in an update. Haven't been bothered wirh it since, and I never had to reset my watch

Electronics are funny. Sometimes things just die. It may have nothing to do with your swim, just coincidentally picked that time for its last gasp. That being said, perhaps the battery itself died. Since it is out of warranty, you can bring it anywhere for repair. If you have a local tech fixit shop such as You Break We Fix, you can see if they have a reasonable price for diagnosis and repair.

I agree, especially since the watch seems to randomly lock itself...this is unacceptable. They should either make it a choice to secure individual apps or put on a fongerprint sensor. The random locking is starting to make the watch unusable for anything other than telling time. I can use a Timex for that.

Everyone hates the whole watch lock. It may, however, be part of Google's security requirements now that Samsung switched OS. i hate that Google is always adding inconvenient security protocols even on computers. It should always be a choice how the USER wants to balance security with convenience. IMO there is no reason to lock the whole watch, when they can just maybe have the option to secure certain apps. It is really annoying when the watch randomly decides to lock itself and I have to unlock it to do anything other than check the time.

Also, you dont have to take it off to shake the water off. Shaking your arm will do it. Personally, i never shake it at all, even after coming out of the pool.

The important thing is that you have T-Mobile unlink the watch's phone number from your phone and disable the LTE service to the watch. Just FYI, should you get a new watch...the watch is completely water resistant, even if you don't engage the water lock. I swim with it almost every day and shower with it, so a little sink water isn't going to hurt it.

You should report the liss to TMobile and disconnect it from your account. If it's lte, it has it's own number and they should be able to either locate or disable it. If you got the watch ftom them "free", though, you may still have to pay the balance owed, but at least you won't be paying for the extra device on your account. I don't actually understand, though, (I'm sure you had your reasons) why you would take your watch off in a store. Wven if using Samsung Pay, you can do that with the watch on.

To answer your qestion re quick panel controls, you reach the quick panel by swiping down at the very top of your screen. There you will see an array of control icons. You can arrange them in the order you want by clicking on the three dots on the upper right. You csn also add or rmove controls via the same menu. Just choose quick panel layout and/or edit buttons. You will find the camera and mic control buttons there

I cannot even tell you how much I hate, hate, hate that new "feature". It is an unnecessary addition that no one asked for. Most watch faces have the date, and if one chooses one that does not, there is a calendar widget

Why? How many places do we need to see the date? Do we no longer renember what day it is? When I pull the bezel diw, it's because I want to see the battery level‐-and I dont want to wait for 2 seconds fir the daye to disappear

So, yesterday a watch software update came down. Didn't appear to be problematic, and did appear to fix an ongoing problem (it didn't). It added an unnecessary date header on the quick panel just before it changes to the battery level. Why anyone thought that would be a good idea is beyond me--get rid of it, all I want is to see my battery level. Also, when I went to turn off bedtime mode, it did not actually turn it off. I clicked the turn off button, which, as annoyingly usual, gave me the screen to put in my security code, however, bedtime mode/DND did not turn off. I had to manually turn off bedtime mode. THIS IS UNNACCEPTABLE. An update is supposed to improve things. Not make it worse.

I don't have that problem with either my active 2 or watch 4. I swim every day for the last 2 years and always wear the watch and it traks my swimming just fine. I've swum in pools and iceans with no harm to the watches.

So, today's update appeared to solve the problem of persistent notification, but that was only while it was in proximity to my phone. I noticed that at some point during the day the notification was absent from the notification drawer and I was very happy. However, as soon as I moved out of Bluetooth range, the (phantom) voicemail notification returned on the watch. Previously, the notification stayed, even if it wasn't actually buzzing me, but now it only stays if I am out of range of my phone. Once I acknowledge it, it leaves me alone, but still hangs around, unable to be dismissed. Once connected back to the phone, it disappears. So thanks, Samsung, for finding a half fix to the problem. Now, if you can just address the real problem that ALL notifications should be able to be dismissed and never heard from again...

Can anyone tell me why my Galaxy Watch 4 is not backing up automatically? I have a Galaxy S10 lite and the most recent version of the wearable app. I have the watch settings in the app to backup automatically, yet it appears that my watch only gets backed up when I do it manually. At first, I thought it only backed up when a changes to the configuration/apps/settings were made, but that doesn't appear to be the case. My Active 2 backed up overnight while I was sleeping. The phone is connected to the internet at night, the screen is off, my watch is in bedtime mode so the screen is off and it is connected to the phone via Bluetooth. All the conditions for automatic backup are present, yet it does not backup on its own. While we are on the subject, there really should be a way to tell at a glance when the last backup was, as now one has to go into the settings, backup & restore, select the restore setting and look and see what the date was of the last backup. I think there should be a little blurb under one of those settings that says "last backup on xx/xx/xxxx so we don't have to do all that clicking just to check. Maybe put the backup date right under the watch face right when you open the wearable app. Also, who thought it would be a good idea to add the date when all I want to do is pull down the watch face to see the battery level???

My watch has a different number that it is actually non functional and is linked/paired to the phone. We tried everything, including unpairing the phone, setting up the watch VM box and then clearing it, but still the nitification persists. This is a KNOWN issue with both Samsung and T-MOBILE and, as I understand ir, has been going on for quite a while among many customers. As I said in my post, the best solution would just be not having persistent ongoing notifications. 2nd best, would be allowing us to control/dismiss them. In any case accessing the VM box should clear the notification regardless if a VM exists. I might also add that the notification is ONLY on the watch., not the phone, which is a Galaxy S10 lite.

I am really not loving this Samsung support model, which appears to be "let's start a community and let users solve each other's problems and we won't have to do anything at all" and maybe you can hope that Samsung support will see your post and weigh in.
Samsung must develop a way to dismiss persistent notifications. I don't need a constant notification on my watch of a voicemail that does not exist. It wastes battery power and annoys the user. THERE IS NO VOICEMAIL. At the very, very least, the notification should disappear when the voice mailbox is accessed (message or not). There also is absolutely no reason for a notification to be ongoing. If a user saw a notification and chose to ignore it, there is no reason to keep reminding them of it. ONGOING NOTIFICATIONS SHOULD NOT EXIST.
I noticed that even when there is a legitimate voicemail notification, I cannot dismiss it until I access the voicemail. This is wrong. At the very least there should be a setting whereby you can a) select if you want notifications to be ongoing and b) select how many times and at what intervals you want to be reminded, or c) not have an ongoing notification at all.
I understand this particular issue seems to be with the Galaxy Watch 4 and T-Mobile, and T-Mobile says their Samsung tech liaison team is working with Samsung, and Samsung will, supposedly, eventually come up with a fix for it. But it would not be happening in the first place if any of the suggestions above were utilized. I also understand that some people have had success with resolving this issue by factory resetting their watch. I refuse factory reset my watch for a minor issue, especially when the backup data may contain whatever error is causing this, and I don't want to have to go through all my settings again after a reset, just to get my watch to function properly.

It's set to measure continually, and the widgets do point to your current heart rate and stress levels. If you want to change that, you have to go into the samsung health app on your watch, to settings, select heart rate and then select manual only, then the measure button will appear. Repeat for stress.

There is no message to delete. Voicemail is empty. I called my bicemail to leave a message to delete, but that only deleted the new message and the notification remains and the watch will not allow me to clear it

Anyone know how to get rid of a phantom voicemail notification on the GW4? I got a scam phone call which left a voicemail, which i erased. There is nothing in my voicemail box, yet my watch keeps notifying me of a "new" voicemail. I cannot dismiss this notification, as i get an error message that "ongoing notifications can't be dismissed". Am i doomed to get this notification forever? I have even tried making a new voicemail and deleting that to get rid of the notification.

My sensors are clean. The watch constantly records vitals and should know its on the wrist of a live petson and should not lock when I am wearing it. It seems to think that if I am not moving my arm, the watch is off body, even if it is recording vitals. This needs to be fixed. There shouldn't even be a lock except on secure apps like Samsung Pay. The very least they could do if the new OS requires a security lock, and is going to lock on a time out, is to add a fingerprint scanner.

I have a Galaxy Watch 4. For the most part, I find it useful, except for the annoyances I outlined in previous posts - some of which have been fixed. However, since the latest update, the watch seems to lock after a minimal period of not moving my wrist. I clock it at about 15 minutes of not moving and after I unlock it after putting it back on my wrist and perhaps not using an app immediately after unlocking. It is extremely annoying to have to unlock my watch every time I want to do something other than look at the time. It was bad enough that in the GW4 they make you set a security code FOR THE WATCH, in order to use Samsung Pay, rather than, as in the past, just use a code to unlock Samsung Pay. Further updates then had the watch locking after a period of inactivity, even while still on your wrist. I can understand locking when it's off (that's security), but with all the sensors active, the watch certainly knows that I am wearing the watch--or it should be calling 9-1-1 because I'm dead. There is no reason for it to lock when I'm sleeping. There is no reason for it to lock if I am just sitting on the couch watching TV. IF THE WATCH IS ON A WRIST, IT SHOULD NOT BE LOCKED!!! ever. This needs to be addressed and fixed. I have better things to do than unlock my watch every - single - time I want to use a watch app.

You won't get notifications i LTE mode unless the apps you want notifications for have companion apps on the watch. You'd have to chrck the play store to see if there are companion apps for your watch.

I have found that most Samsung watch features work best when paired with a Samsung phone. I didn't even know some features weren't working when my watch was paired with an Asus phone, but when I got a Samsung phone, all of a sudden I had access to features that I didn't before. The basics will work fine with any Android phone, but anything complex or advanced needs to be paired with a Samsung device.
