FWIW, I ditched wifi calling in favor of bugging my provider (Verizon) about the lousy reception I get in the valley I live in. They ended up sending me a free device that attaches to my router and uses GPS to (magically) boost the signal to five bars most of the time. Even outside I can now make calls. See if your provider has such a device available. Oh, and guess who makes this thing? Yep, Samsung.

This is very wierd, but when ending a call, I move the phone from my ear and the screen remains black. Thus, I cannot end the call; no red phone icon to press. Sure, the other party can and does end the call, but that's not the point. The screen should light up the instant I remove the phone from my ear. Anyone else have this happen? Running Android 10.

If I had to guess, I'd say for the same reason they don't let users know that when you install a major update to the OS on any of their mobile devices, many, if not all apps are set back to factory defaults. This was the case on my Active 2 watch; the latest Tizen update turned of location tracking (the default) and it took me a while to figure this out. Now I am conditioned to check all my critical apps after they send out any update.

As foolish as it may sound, the only reason I rolled the dice on my Active 2 was because I use a Samsung phone. I fugued, if the watch doesn't work with what then was the latest Samsung phone, then what would it work with? It did and does. These days, device compatibilty cannot be guarenteed by any maker, regardless of the OS version you are running. This is a major drag, I know, but there it is. I'd be dollars to donuts that if you paired your watch with any current Samsung mobile device, all would be well. Major OS updates tend to cause these issues, even today. Good luck!

Also, if you recently updated your watch, check the default setting for whatever app monitors your sleep. The latest Tizen update turned off location tracking for all the activities on my Active 2.

Just a heads up to those of you who own this watch and updated it to Tizen 5.5.01. The update turned off Location in the activity app, so when I went for a hike, the watch only tracked steps and heart rate, but no track or elevation. Had to clear the cache for Samsung Health and turn on location in the activity settings on the watch. Will test it tomorrow and see if I get a track, and post the result here. Sigh....

Hello-not sure if this post should be in apps or for mobile devices, so here goes: When I use my Active 2 watch for a hike, the only thing it tracks and registers on my GS10+ is heart rate and steps in Samsung Health. I distinctly remember at one time I could check that activity and see both distance and elevation gain/loss. Can anyone tell me how to get either the watch or its companion app on the phone to create this track? Many thanks.
