Meaning does it happen when using an app like Netlfix? No, it only happens when watching cable tv. The tvs in the other rooms during the same broadcast have sound which is what led me to think it wasnt a cable issue.
If its indeed the cable box that is connected to the tv thats the problem, how do i test the sound if i get no reception without the cable box?

My TV (model # UN48JU6400) doesn't get sound whenever certain shows come on. It happens across stations like NBC, ABC, Fox, CBS. For example, it goes off during Today Show, but comes on for Hoda and Kathie Lee. Watching Dr. Phil on Fox and local news, no sound. I dont have anything hooked to the tv except the cable box. I've checked the following:
TV sound settings
Sound test was fine
Reset the TV
unplugged TV and cable box
The TV doesn't seem to have close captioning, it's apparently called MTS on this Samsung TV and it says it isn't available.
Does anyone know what the problem could be and how to fix it?
