Why are people so elitist about things these days? "jUsT uSe ThE cLoUd" or "WHO NEEDS MORE THAN 512GB OF STORAGE!!" really isn't helpful to the person who has a legitimate need. There's plenty of reasons cloud storage might not be feasible. Bandwidth isn't free, and many people are stuck on metered plans that either charge you huge overage fees or even threaten to disconnect you. You don't have local access, so there's many apps that simply can't access cloud data. You might have genuine privacy concerns (plenty of cloud providers have had data breaches, and you can't as easily do something like use a TrueCrypt volume like you might on a desktop computer when you're on a phone). As some others have noted, you might have business policy requirements or confidentiality concerns, especially with so many more people working remotely. It's honestly just too bad that Samsung hasn't included the SD slot in what I think is its most expensive smartphone. I'd gladly pay the huge phone premium for, say, a Z Fold4+ that was ever so slightly larger, slightly larger battery and including the SD slot. Even a 1TB model would be a bit of a consolation, but that idea seems to have died with the S10+, only lasting for a single generation. Of course I understand that a feature that only a small minority of customers demand can be hard to include if it means a significantly higher BOM and R&D cost, but that doesn't mean people who need the SD slot aren't expressing a legitimate, genuine need. Simply telling those people "you're wrong to want that, you should be using the cloud" is basically gaslighting.
