Thanks it worked after 2 tries. I used WiFi not cable. Would rather not have involved my laptop, thanks 4 the tip. But I used the SmartSwitch when I activated the new phone and it transferred email & contacts but not texts, not sure why, but who cares it's OK now Thanks!
