Try disabling chat features and then reinstall the app and try it again.

Ok, this happened to my app before. In order, clear the cache and then the data then force stop the app and then close the app then reopen it. You might have to do it one more time if it doesn't work the first time

I'm not sure about Verizon but I know T-Mobile has it for unlocked phones and carrier phones. However, you could flash carrier Software to your phone using Odin and get certain carrier features for certain carriers

If you're not seeing any typing indicators or read receipts it could be because the other person has them disabled on their end or does not have RCS

If you go into settings and go into the display tab there should be a setting called accidental touch protection. You should be able to search for that function in the search bar in settings

Do you still have the old phone by chance? Also, did they port everything over using smart switch? It appears the contacts were either saved to your Google account or Samsung account and didn't transfer over. I assign all my contacts to my Samsung account that way if I get a new phone all I would need to do is sign into my Samsung account and everything would be ported over.
