Notifications have just stopped working on my Samsung S8 plus.  I have checked all settings including volume.  I have also tried installing the Android Messages app but that has the same issue.  It is only notifications that is the issue.  Ringtone and media are still fine.  I use Zedge for both my ringtone and notification sound.  Have also rebooted about 3 times. ...
