For a temporary solution, reboot the watch when the problem is detected, and then disable the Elliptical trainer and Rowing machine setting. (The menu options may vary by the watch.) Do we know when this update is going to happen? I had this same issue with my 42mm watch so I exchanged it and the new one is doing the same thing. It takes my heart rate just fine when I go in and tap on "measure" but when it's in a workout mode and supposed to be on continuous it drops out. I went for a 3 mile walk today and the heart rate was dropped out for 3/4 of the walk. And I've had all the workout detections toggled off since day 1.

If you got one of the smaller galaxy watches I'd like to hear what kind of battery life you're getting and how heavy of a user you are. Yesterday when I got down to 15% I checked the battery stats in the app and I had only gotten 1 day and 54 minutes. That was with an almost hour long walk playing music and using Samsung health with GPS. I feel like I'm actually getting worse battery life than I did with my gear S2 sport. The 2 biggest drains are Samsung health and Bixby. I changed the setting for the automatic heart rate sensor from every 10 minutes to never. I really only care about that when I'm working out anyway. Just curious what others are getting with the battery.
