I haven't had any issues with the CVS app and I use it regularly to track meds. Try wiping the cache partition to see if it solves most of the issues.

Please try any of the below steps and see it helps resolve issue.
Reboot the device
Toggle to a different wall paper and back
Clear cache of the device
Toggle adaptive eye saver off and on.
Toggle dark mode
