So after the pink line appeared, my screen went completetly blank - as I reported earlier in this thread. My phone (S7 edge) was only 6 months old and in perfect condition. I thus sent it to the Samsung repair facility at Plano, Texas. I followed the online status tracking system that they provide. That record shows that the repair center received my phone on June 21 and that it was marked as repaired within only a few hours. I received the phone back on June 26. It was a very quick turnaround. The display now works, and with no pink or other colored line(s), at least yet. One very strange thing about the S7 edge I received back is that it's not the same phone I sent in. At least the chassis (metal frame) and the home button are definitely not the same. However, the IMEI number on the back glass cover and on the hardware identification as accessed through the OS are the same. I'm guessing they put the motherboard and the back cover on an entirely different phone. The reason I'm certain the metal frame isn't the same one that I shipped out is because there were chamfered edges on the speaker grill and microphone holes on the frame of that device. The chamfered bevels were very apparent under my mag lamp. Those chamfered edges are absolutely nonexistent on the phone I received back. And I know the home button -or at least its cover- is not the same because it used to have a small factory defect (a minuscule surface bump) that could also be easily seen under my mag lamp, or if the light hit it just right. It's now mirror-smooth. So it appears that they gave me a different phone that's been cloned to my original phone's ID. And that's fine with me, as long as it works well. But strangely, nothing like that is noted on the repair detail. That detail's description of work completed states only the following: Examination Steps 1. Inspection of display for damage 2. Battery charge/discharge test 3. Physical button operation 4. Touch screen responsiveness Repair/replacement Replaced LCD (SVC LCD ASSY-OCTA,(E/ZS);SM-G935A,ATT Replaced INCELL BATTERY PACK-EB-BG935ABA,3600MAH And by the way, my phone is not an AT&T model; it's a Sprint model (SM-G935P). But I suppose they use the same display for every carrier model. So ultimately I'm certain that the metal frame is an entirely different unit. Which suggests to me that I now have a completely different device than the one I shipped out. And again, I'm not complaining about that at all. There is, however, something strange going on with the ringtone firing. The first ring is now very faint. That's about all for now.
