Howdy, Well after muddling through all of the posts about the S9/S9+ and the lack of updates, then talking to miserable Samsung reps who don't know anything and clearly don't care... I did the deed. By that I mean I went to the XDA website, got what you need, and did the deed. Smart Switch thought my phone was a carrier phone afterwards and said I had an update. Nothing came OTA, it might be broken now, but then again, has anything come OTA for the past 4 months? Anyway, I am happily on the June security patch on T-mobile, the ARF4 baseband, using a factory unlocked s9+, and that's it. Yippy. BTW: I used the same version, ARBG, that I had originally. I think SS just needed to think my phone was an SM-G965U and not a U1. I could be less vague but... If you decide to do the same thing, *you do it at your own risk.* I never knew if it's 100% kosher, but I trust XDA and the developers on there more than Samsung, and Samsung knows my credit cards, probably counts how many times flush the toilet, collects tons of metadata off all of us (just like a Mini-Google-#2 ) and all we get from them is a vacuum of knowledge. A void. If the post gets pulled because it's suggestive of how to solve getting an update in a fairly common, yet unorthodox, and cumbersome way which I've done a million times before, who cares. I just wish I hadn't felt like I should've done it sooner. If I knew a month after buying this thing what I know now, I would have done this weeks ago. Samsung, this app, the wasted posting; all useless. Be proactive or plan to wait forever... or maybe til tomorrow. Miracles do happen every day! Cheers peeps!
