I was having the same problem with my 980 Pro 2TB, Windows 11. Fixed it by configuring Magician to initialize at Startup; I had disabled that option because I very rarely use this app so wanted to cut the bloat. After doing this and rebooting, Magician executed the firmware update correctly. I guess it uses some kernel driver that fails to load in some systems unless it loads early during boot. Please try this solution before downgrading to an older version of Magician, since I was only able to find that older version in random download sites that cannot be trusted.
