I figured this out. Basically you have to install a custom device type for your fan controller. You can do this by these steps: 1. Go to https://graph.api.smartthings.com/ 2. Log in to your Samsung Smart Things account 3. Click on "My location" 4. Click on the name of your device 5 Now click on "My Device Handlers" 6. Click "+Create New Device handler" 7. Click "From code" 8. Go to this Github link click here and copy all lines of the code 9. Go back to the "From Code" page and paste the code there 10. Hit "Create" 11. Click "Publish" 12. Now click on "My Devices" on the top of the page 13. Click on the display name of the fan controller 14. Click "Edit" at the bottom of the page 15. Under "Type" Select "Z-Wave Smart Fan Control" 16.
