Not sure if it's related, but Samsung phones disable the camera if the boot loader is tampered with or modified. The bootloader is like the front door to the inner workings of the device leading up the operating system and is the target for custom rom enthusiasts. This is where you hear of jailbreaking, where that door is broken down. Samsung has the front door coded in such a way that if someone did manage to break the door down the device would automatically disable the use of the cameras. In your case, if you didn't tamper with the door or any apps or programs designed to do the same, I would assume that that last software update left the proverbial door open thus triggering Samsung's contingency. In this case I would imagine you either need to force reinstall an official Samsung update for your device or hop on the phone with Samsung so they can talk you through it.

Do you have biometrics security enabled, particularly fingerprint scanning? There is a setting that enables the device to automatically factory delete all data after so many failed login or unlock attempts. Yes it's possible to trigger a failed unlock attempt while the device is in your pocket (done it) depending on the device and placement of the sensor. Also anyone that attempts to login or unlock the device and fails gets closer to the phone doing a factory reset. 10, 9, 8, etc, until either the correct password or pin is used and the count is reset or it reaches zero and the phone erases itself. The setting can be found in Settings>Lock Screen>Secure Lock Settings.

I've had issues with Android Auto, but I think I finally got a handle on things after I cleared the cache for Android Auto, Google Play and Google Play Services, and using the Galaxy App Booster in the Good Gaurdians app. I reinstalled and updated Android Auto and things seem much better. The connection seems to be back to normal post beta install. Right after the update, my car stereo wouldn't switch correctly between the phone speaker and the car speakers.

This. After an overhaul like this you can expect battery life to suffer a bit. It is best, at least in my experience, to delete the cache, Google play store, and Google play store services cache, and start fresh. I went ahead and reset my app permissions as well as it was messing with my ability to connect to my Watch 4. Here the last few days performance has gotten noticeably better.

Can you just opt out of the beta program and the device prompt you for the current official version? I know it use to be that way years back, but I don't know if it still is.
