Ever since t-mobile forced an update on my phone i can not get the Bluetooth to connect in my car.  I have a 2012 Ford edge.  The car itself uses something called sync.  Car can not find my phone and phone can't not fine my car.

Any suggestions

You can try 'reset network settings' in your phone settings, then try again to connect. But it may be necessary to update the Sync software. 10 years without an update is enough time in the tech world to break connectivity. You can go to the Ford Owner website, enter your VIN and see what software update options are available for your vehicle.

You can also attempt to connect to your car via the USB-C port on your phone and the USB-C data port in the car (if equipt) using a USB-C cable.

Also, as an FYI and side issue, you probably have a 3g modem installed in your vehicle, which will need to be updated to take full advantage of all the features that the FordPass app offers, but isn't necessary to use Sync, as the Sync system uses your handset's network for connectivity via Bluetooth.

My 2016 Ford C-Max Energi SE hybrid has a 3g model currently and I'm looking into upgrading it now.

I've kept the Sync software current with regular software updates after loosing connectivity after a phone upgrade, as the hands-free option is a must for me on local trips. On long trips I use the Adroid Drive app, which has better hands-free audio controls and options, with Google Assistant.
