Better messaging app other than the stock one?

Is there another or should I say better app for text messaging then the stock one on my new S22? On my note 10 I could go back a read the delete (trash) messages for 30 days? Suggestions?? Thanks yall

I have the stock messages app and you can do that by clicking 3 dots in upper right and picking trash

The S22 series started using Google messages as the default, however you can switch back to Samsung messages if you like. Just look for the app "messages" with 3 dots in a text bubble on your phone (might be in a folder called "Samsung" open it and set it as the default. And don't worry, you can swap freely between the two and ur texts will transfer between

Go into battery and device care, storage, there will be a trash folder there. Messages if any will be in a folder

Google messages doesn't have a trash, but your able to archive your messages in a separate folder that doesn't delete them. Then you could review them later to make sure you want to permanently delete them.
Just swipe right or left on a message group to archive a conversion easily.
