I agree. I used that tool most frequently and on daily basis. And now it has gone missing.

I just downloaded the new Samsung Galaxy 6.1 update yesterday, and although it's a great update, it removed key features that I used a lot. Smart select is changed and now you cannot create gifs anymore. Also, Google messages changed background and bubbles colors. Unable to change that either. I don't have a customized theme of any sort so it shouldn't have changed it. Mine is a brown color, while others report purple or different colors as well. Unless I'm missing something, tgis new update removed very useful features. 😔

I updated last night and just realized they took away the gif maker. I use that feature ALL THE TIME. I cannot believe they would remove and not tell users ahead of time. Had I known, I wouldn't have updated. I read that one handed + offered a workaround but now that's fine too. What was Samsung thinking!!??!!!

Samsung is actively censoring the comments and reviews of unhappy users regarding are disapproval of their continued merger with Google. A few weeks ago, Samsung announced Google Messages would become the default messaging app on all new devices released after the Galaxy S24. Users with older models were assured that they would not be affected by this change. However, Samsung recently announced they will be removing Samsung Messages from older models as well. 💔 This news has been met with disappointment by many Samsung users. At this point, Samsung has decided to go against the will of loyal users to allow Google to inv our privacy and gain even more access to our pers information. The only way to ensure manufacturers will listen to our concerns is to stop buying their products. After being a loyal Samsung user for a decade I'm seriously considering looking elsewhere. 👀:red_apple: I'm quite sure their next move will be forcing us to use Google Photos instead of the Samsung Photos application.

I was just wondering why Gif Editior was left out of the quick panel or how do I add it back. I used it all the time. I get that is needed reimagined but PLEASE give us a gif editor/Animation addition to do on the fly quick editing from Smart Selct please...

Annoyingly enough, it looks like you'll have to just open the video editor to edit gifs. Maybe it'll come back soon?
