Hi I bought a Samsung fridge with an auto fill water pitcher 11/7/20 and the pitcher has been leaking ever since we bought it.

I understand how this may be frustrating and want to help, have you tried the following troubleshooting steps?

Your Auto Fill Pitcher is not dishwasher safe. Washing it in the dishwasher can warp the pitcher and cause leakage. Always hand wash the pitcher with light soap and water.

  1. Prepare to drain the Autofill compartment.

Remove the pitcher, and dry it off with a towel. You'll also need a towel or container to collect any water that drains out of the system on the next step.

  2. Remove the rubber drain cap under the Autofill compartment, and drain all the water.

Even if you don't see any water visible in the compartment above, there may still be some in the drainage area that needs to come out. If your model doesn't have a rubber drain cap, then skip this step.

  3. Inspect the pitcher and lid for cracks or other damage.

If any of the pieces are damaged, they will need to be replaced. Visit samsungparts.com for replacements.

  4. Dry all the pieces and reassemble them.

Make sure the pitcher's lid is assembled correctly. If the pitcher and its lid are not aligned correctly, water may leak. Also, the Autofill function will not fill the pitcher if moisture is detected, so make sure everything is dry. The pour spout should face away from the handle, and the two-part lid should be assembled so the pieces match up and fit securely together.

  5. Make sure the button behind the pitcher is not stuck.

There is a spring-loaded button behind where the pitcher goes. Press on the button and make sure it is not sticking. This button must have full contact with the pitcher when it is installed for the AutoFill feature to function.

  6. If the leak is an issue with the pitcher, replace the pitcher.

If the pitcher continues to leak, especially if it leaks even when it is not in the fridge, then replace the pitcher. For a warranty replacement, please send me a private message. For out of warranty purchases, visit samsungparts.com.

Please reach out directly via one of the following methods, as we would like to Gather additional information, and look at this from a case by case basis. Please provide the full model and serial of the washer as well as your best contact phone number, name, and email.

The autofill pitcher in our refrigerator is leaking.  I followed the instructions included in the post:  https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Kitchen-and-Family-Hub/Auto-Fill-Water-Pitcher-Leaks/td-p/138211...

and still had the same problem.  it is still under warranty and I would like to know how to get it replaced.

Model:  RF28R7351DT/AA

Please let me know if you need additional information.   Thank you.pitcher-leaking.jpg

We purchased

Model:  RF23M8070SR/AA     Serial No: <HIDDEN>  in Sept 2019.  On 4/20/20 Samsung  sent us a new water pitcher to replace ours that is leaking.

The new pitcher is leaking the same way.  We hand wash the pitcher.  Never put it in dishwasher.  Have tried cleaning and reseating the white gasket.  But it still leaks.

Can we get another replacement filter?  We have the extended Home Depot warranty.

many thanks,

Jim Pollock

Hello I apologize for the issue your experiencing with the water pitcher. I would suggest giving your extended warranty provider a call regarding the replacement part request or you can contact J&J international to purchase the part directly at 1-800-627-4368.

Samsung doesn't back their products. They've known about their auto fill pitcher leaking and haven't issued a recall on them and if you're within 30 days of your warranty being out they say [edit]. 4 thousand dollars for a refrigerator they continue to sell with faulty parts

 hello Samsung crew,

can this pitcher be replaced? It leaks from the front regardless of what we do. It does not go into the dishwasher, we only use it for filling up water bottles but the leaking is out of control
