As with the other posts on this monitor, my G8 is doing the same thing, blinks black from time to time and will go black and stay black. I can sometimes turn it of and on to bring it back or unplug the DP cable and plug it in again to get the monitor connected to my PC again. Very disturbing!
I have been a computer tech for over 50 years and I would tell Samsung that the issue is in the DP signal response in the monitor, they should be able to fix this with an update.
