Beta 1 was buttery smooth and I was much surprised. It felt like a huge improvement over OneUI 6.1. But beta 2 doesn't feel as smooth as beta 1 and there are micro stutters everywhere.

Yes. Also, my phone takes forever and a go.d.da.m.n half to boot up. Slow as molasses for 5+ min after power on / reboot. Then when you think that it's done, nope, it's probably not, and whatever app you're using just freezes for several seconds.

Every update they remove things that weren't necessary to remove, break more stuff, and don't even listen to the core user feedback. There's a growing list on Reddit by angry Redditers tracking all the features Samsung has removed. Features Google supports stock.

Samsung is too busy rushing the update. It was clear they made a special version for the brand new phones released this year. All other phones took a back seat.

The status bar icons are so ugly, that fat a.s.s. battery icon is a sore thumb that sticks out. I've had friends comment asking what the icon is,
ā€œIs that the battery icon??! šŸ¤”šŸ¤”ā€
ā€œUnfortunately, yes.

See, what i learned, is that although Google gave Samsung the code for Android 15 a year ago, Samsung experienced massive worker strikes. I don't think they even touched Android 15 code until Nov. Also, don't be fooled by Samsung mods here claiming how hard it is to create updates for new Android versions. It's easy. Thanks to Treble, Dynamic System Updates, and Generic System Images, phones can be loaded with stock Google images, no effort required, and boot it right into Android 16. That is, if we had unlockable bootloaders. GSI and DSU were added in Android 10. The only thing Samsung has to do for each Android release is add all their changes and UI modifications.

Been noticing it while loading the media output. I can't tell if it's the lack of optimization or RAM.

Hello,

Thank you for your honest feedback and for being part of the Beta program. We understand your frustration regarding performance changes between Beta 1 and Beta 2. The goal of the Beta program is to test new features and system optimizations, which can sometimes introduce regressions or unexpected behavior between builds.

Your observation about smoother performance in Beta 1 compared to Beta 2 is valuable and already under review. As we continue refining the software, user input like yours plays a key role in helping us identify and address these types of regressions.

Regarding additional concerns such as boot time, system lag, and UI elementsā€”please rest assured that these areas are being evaluated based on both internal testing and user-submitted error reports. If you havenā€™t done so already, we highly encourage submitting an error report with logs through the Samsung Members app, which helps our engineers directly investigate device-specific behavior.

Thanks again for your continued participation and feedback.

Regards,
One UI Beta Team
