Does it make a difference as far as animations go? Loading times? Is Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 just an inefficient processor?

I have not. Be curious if there is a performance increase and how much battery life that would cost? Also, overheating. I believe is recommended to use max for short bursts and for high intensity processing like gaming, etc. Everyday use is probably not necessary.

I've been running in maximum since...idk, day one on whatever phone I had when they'd first offered the option so I dunno how much of a difference it makes. I just turned if off though, not seeing an immediate difference but I'll leave it off for a day or two and see if I notice anything

So it's been a day and halfish now and honestly, I'm not seeing any appreciable differences in performance. No major changes in load times, animation quality or battery life, although *maybe* it's a little stuttery when coming out of a long screen off period but if so, it's not significant enough to bother me. I also think it drains a little slower in standby, but I ended the day at more or less normal battery levels so again, nothing major.
I have, however, noticed the phone is a lot cooler during extended use, so I think I'm going to keep it on optimized from here on. There's no need to spin things up so hard if it's just getting me the same performance.
