Battery Drain is Terrible for an Ultra Device

I’ve been testing the One UI 7 Beta on my Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the battery life is really disappointing. Despite having a 5000 mAh battery, I’m barely getting 4.5 hours of screen-on time before my phone is nearly dead.

My phone is only 3 months old, and I’ve taken great care of the battery—I almost never charge it over 80% or let it drop below 50%. Despite this, the battery drain is noticeably worse compared to One UI 6.1. Standby drain is higher, and apps like System UI, Google Play Services, and Always On Display are consuming more power than expected.

This is a flagship phone, and battery life should be better, not worse, with new updates. Has anyone else noticed this? Hopefully, Samsung optimizes battery usage before the stable release because right now, this level of drain isn’t acceptable for a premium device.

Yeah, me too! My battery's been crappier since the beta. But that's to be expected, I'll freak out if it's still bad once it's on stable one ui 7

Yeah, me too. I really hope it's good battery life and hopefully better than One UI 6.1.1.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback and usage habits—that kind of insight really helps. Battery life concerns have been one of the more commonly discussed topics during the Beta, and we understand how frustrating it can feel, especially with a flagship device like the S24 Ultra.

During Beta testing, software isn’t fully optimized, and background processes such as logging and diagnostic tracking can contribute to higher drain, especially from system apps like System UI or Google Play Services. That said, your careful battery maintenance is commendable, and we agree that the final release should reflect the premium expectations of the device.

Your input has been noted and will be shared with the relevant teams for further optimization as we move closer to the stable rollout. Please continue to monitor and feel free to submit an error report via the Samsung Members app if the drain seems excessive after the next build—it’ll help us capture the right log data.

Appreciate your patience and participation in shaping One UI 7!

Best regards,
One UI Beta Team

Yeah. I get bad battery too on my S24+ (had since launch, 97% battery health) and I'm always on wifi but I get like 3 or 4 hours of sot. I know I'm running AoD with the wallpaper enabled and QHD, but I feel like I should be getting more especially on a battery as large as the ultra.

I'm just hoping it's the beta

On a side note, you can wipe cache partition (or whatever it was called) in the recovery menu

I know you can and I also hope it's just a beta problem.
