If you use GoodGuardians and you should of you don't, the Battery Guardian module just got a ton of useful features. Like faster screen dim, standard refresh rate (can finally get rid of that as a routine), screen curtain and more. Screen Curtain is especially useful to keep audio going if you want to (mostly) turn off the screen to save some battery.

Great job Samsung. I love GoodGuadian and GoodLock. Let's keep it going.

The standard refresh rate has been there for me for a while before the beta but I think the other 2 are new. I use galaxy max hz since it offers a bit more control but it's a good option to have for certain apps that don't need a high rate.

max hz really messed up my phone in the past and i couldn't get it back.

Plus on the S23 U our screens can go down to 1hz, Max Hz only allows as low as 10. So while the screen is on you might have some granularity but while it's off you're using more battery.

Never had a problem with galaxy hz max on either the S22U or S23U but on OneUI 6 it haa to be installed trig ADB which isn't hard for me but might be for some. The screen and system refresh are 2 different things so if the screen on AOD isn't being updated it would still go down to 1 Hz but it barely makes a difference in terms of power savings. When it's being updated it goes up to at least 24 Hz anyways bevause I can definitely tell it's updated less at 10 Hz with an animated AOD image or apps such as AOD notify and such. I use macrodroid to disable the AOD in many situations as well so it doesn't use any additional power. It's nice to have options and I save much more power with granulated refresh with the screen on and screen off power use isn't really a problem for me as I charge the phone every day so mostly care about SoT time and have plenty of powerbanks of I ever need more. Had to use those plenty with the S22U but the S23U is so efficient don't really need them unless I'm using my xreal glasses for a while or other very specific situations.
