Why does it seem that this beta didn't 

 really have much to offer. I really didn't see any new features

Me neither but it gave the quick panel that I was hoping for so I'm very happy with that

I just checked the difference between my phone and my brother in laws phone and online NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL. He's staying on the 8.5 while i moved up to the 9 beta. No Difference. In fact, it appears that he is on the beta too even though he isn't. i checked. Everything i can do on 9 beta he is doing on the 8.5 stable

New Android OS updates are almost never flashy; rather, they are tweaks to the OS for better optimization. I don't know if you have noticed, but this is the best battery life I have ever gotten on an Android phone.

I never thought to check that before i joined the beta. i heard android 17 and jumped on it. i only had my phone maybe 24hrs and was already joining the beta. kinda dumb on my part.

I wish I knew what you were doing to get good battery. Mines optimized and it barely lasts half a day.

I don't look at battery life as lasting a day or day and half. I judge battery life by SoT. I am a very heavy user with 10- 11 hrs of SoT with about 25% left in the tank.

I use performance profile light, if that means anything. I don't do anything special with settings or apps to preserve battery.
