Has anyone noticed a reduction in quality for photos on the beta? I know low light photos are tough for most manufacturers but Samsung has always highlighted how well they do in low light settings. I feel like even on the release channel before the beta the photos were coming out better than what I'm attaching here. It seems to be an issue with focus on the picture of the cat. I also notice it's not as clean with the photos of the moon and I had my phone on a tripod with exposure reduced.

Probably somewhere between 60 to 80x zoom

Somewhere between 7 and 9x zoom.

I have not noticed any degradation but I will try it. I'll check back if I find anything

@Rmc1984 The image of the cat scene is really to be expected. Zooming in reducing the area of light the sensors sees is going to produce that result. The full sensor is getting 8-9x less available light than if left at a 1x zoom. Samsung is horrible at using hardware and software to create better images in low light an I suspect this will not change. Having now had my S25U since Jan. 30, of last year, there is still not even one moderate camera software update that has ever been released. Ngl, I have never owned a Galaxy smartphone and not have at least one major camera software update in its first year until my S25U.

This is why I am no longer looking at the next release of the S26 line. I am looking to buy a flagship device that will have the hardware and software to back up the cost. In any case there is one US camera that can do that and put out a better image of that cat and that is the Pixel. Look up "Pixel's AI zoom" for example. With the S25 models still having among the most powerful CPUs in the world, even compared to the Tensor 5 of Pixel's in-house CPUs, Samsung still doesn't produce the software with all of its AI capabilities to make the camera put better quality images in any lighting conditions.

As general advice, try to stick to the pre selected "#x" options as anything beyond 5x is going to degrade the shot. 10x is just cropping in on the 5x lense once which still holds a decent amount of detail. 30x too 100x is still just cropping in on the 5x so the higher you go, the worse the quality will break down.

Understood on the settings. My comment was more about a comparison between non-beta versus beta photos. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed a loss in quality. For example, with the moon shot I was able to get a pretty clear photo of the moon about 6 months ago when not on the beta. I'm going to do some astrophotography tonight, I'll submit feedback if the photos don't turn out good

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your detailed observations and for clarifying that your comparison is between the release version and the current Beta.

If you continue to notice differences in image quality under similar conditions, we kindly encourage submitting an Error Report through Samsung Members immediately after capturing the affected photos so the team can review the associated logs and image data.

Real-world comparison feedback like this is valuable during the Beta period and helps ensure camera performance is optimized before final release.

We appreciate your continued participation and support.

Best regards,

One UI Beta Team
