Hello,
I have an S25 Ultra, Beta 8.5 newest release, Android 16. I bought this device from Samsung making the product Model ID- SM-S938UZBEXAA ( as listed on the box. This is defined as a Direct Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra purchased from Samsung. And registered under that Product ID Model. I recently did a factory reset and now my Model Product ID has changed to a SM-S938UZBETMB, listing it as a Direct Purchase from T-Mobile. The serial number amlnd IMEI numbers are still the same.
Does anyone know how this happens? It is listed this way as This Device , in my Samsung account ( directly on the phone).
I called tech support and they had no definitive answer for me.
I've gone to UbreakIfix, and they too have no answer. I'm a little paranoid, because my work account was compromised, even it the password, according to IT, and this is the only device that carried my work account.
If anyone knows where I can get a reasonable definitive answer, I'm will to go to a Third Party company to find out.
Thanks

@MadonnaLVR FYI, both of the model numbers you posted indicate that this is a carrier device. The part of the model number "SM-S938U" would have a "1", as in "SM-S938U1", if it was a factory unlocked device.

When you bought the device from Samsung did you buy the unlocked version or the carrier option, T-Mobile in this case?

@BladeOfMoon The info posted by the OP shows that it is a carrier device.

i looked up both model numbers and both link back to s25 ultra 512gb SSD titanium silverblue. for carrier locked devices it would look like this for example i have an S25 5G and I have SM-S931U because I have a T-Mobile device. if I didn't have carrier locked it'd look like SM-S931U1 meaning its capable of running any sim card but there's also a difference between hardware locked and carrier locked hardware locked will still have splash screen and bloatware but it can also be sim unlocked

I understand that both are unlocked. But 2elhen I purchased the phone it was from Samsung ending in EAXX. I them connected to T-Mobile and it was still -EAXX. Now after my fiasco with work it is ending in -ETMB. Both are unlocked versions of the phone I have. But the difference is where you bought the phone. I had Verizon when I bought the phone and now it says I purchased from TMobile , How can the ending of the Product ID change from a Samsung Purchase to a T-Mobile purchase. There's my dilemma.
