Gmail, unable to select and edit email

Gmail will constantly crash but attempting to select text. User doesn't get any farther than attempting to select texts and crash reverting to previous screen / folder or crashing all together and giving you a prompt to uninstall Webview.

The suggestion is to fix and patch this ASAP. 

Any suggested workarounds are using the same device?

Unistall updates to Gmail, reinstall the updates to Gmail, force stop webview and it should work

Even when executing your suggestion the glitch eventually reoccurs

Make sure Android System Webview is selected updated and active in settings.
