I am using the Google Phone app instead of Samsung Phone. AOD on at all times.

When I receive a phone call, instead of it lighting up the screen it shows it on the now bar. So I have to quickly unlock the phone, pull down the notification shade, then answer.
Is this an issue with Google Phone specifically, or is any phone app not Samsung Phone not allowed to light up the screen?

Edit: I just turned off AOD completely. The phone just vibrates to a black screen, I have to unlock the phone to see the lock screen.

@BladeOfMoon Check whether the Google Phone app is allowed to โ€œAppear on top of other appsโ€ by going to Settings/Apps/Phone (look for Google phone icon color)/ and open that, then look at "Appear on top". If thatโ€™s off, toggle it on then try it. If it is already on, this may be a bug in beta (8) where incoming calls from a nonโ€‘Samsung dialer seems to get confined to the now bar, even with AOD off. I am only assuming this as a possible cause since the AOD being on/off and Now Bar is mentioned. Also, check the Google Play Store for its phone app to be updated.

After that, Iโ€™d recommend reporting it through the Members app right after reproducing the issue. Then it will be a matter for the devs to look into it. In the meantime I suggest to temporarily switch back to the default Phone app.

Anyway, this is copied and pasted from the beta moderator here,

To help us investigate further, please submit an Error Report through the Samsung Members app immediately after reproducing the problem:

1. Open Samsung Members โ†’ One UI Beta Program โ†’ Beta Feedback.
2. Select Error reports and attach any relevant screenshots or screen recordings (if available).
3. Make sure โ€œSend system log dataโ€ is enabled before submitting.

Important: For accurate log collection, please submit the report within 3 minutes of reproducing the issue.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support in helping us improve the Beta experience.
