Why location icon shows all the time and says "Being used by System apps"?

Yep, me too, and it drastically increases battery usage. I also made a post after yours.

I don't believe this means that GPS is on all the time, rather the icon is an access point to see a log of GPS usage. It's the same usage log when long pressing the GPS on the Quick Pannel button.
It is confusing though with the green icon there all the time.

Be good if the moderators could comment on it. 😉

When you lock and unlock phone it sends out signal for your location so that the phone can be found, retrieved in case stole, lost, etc. I have the same exact message when clicking on it. I think it functions as it is supposed to, or at least I haven't noticed any battery drain from location services. I hope this helps. Cheers. 👊🏻

We are currently aware of this issue, where the location icon remains active in the status bar due to continuous background usage by certain system apps—even when no user-facing apps are actively requesting location. This may result in additional battery drain for some users.
