DiscussionsOn the camera focusing issues. For me, while not being a deal breaker, the light/dark variations in scenes during image taking is poor. Most times if touching the darker scenes, it will try to focus only to remained blurred. No matter how many time I have through months cleaned the app cache, data and wiped cache partition, the same results. Sometimes it immediately focuses, highlighting the darker areas better. Overall this is not is not what I experienced on my S22U except very occasionally. I sent in a screen video recording of this issue.
The other issue is where the camera recognize brighter elements to lower light ones, like bright light outside showing through a window while the interior is lower light. When moving to the focal point to the brighter elements in the window, it only reduces the light somewhat unless I manually lower it. Then that makes the interior darker looking. If looking at the interior areas, the window's outside light is blown out, as if the sun is right outside my window. That needs to work better in a more balanced way.
Considering the power of the SD 8 Elite still being best in the world, Samsung has not updated it camera software to function better, other than providing a night-mode and Astro-photography update for the February monthly patch six months ago. I have never used a Samsung flagship phone where an overall camera update was not implemented during its first months, let alone 8 months later after its release and still none. Also, I hope that Samsung allows for that horrible battery pill shape to have other choices like having the pre-UI 7.0 version as a choice or at least other contrast values than black and white.
