Maps/Lag/weather widget

I've noticed today when using the Google maps to navigate a issue. When exiting out of the Google maps app it's it for some reason effects the weather widget. In general the whole system is very laggy when using Google maps. Additionally going back into Google maps after exiting the app is completely blank, I'm assuming this has to do with this being a BETA let me know if you can recreate this?

Examples of exiting the Google maps application and then maps resorting to the weather widget. Additionally this transition is very laggy the white screen picture is Google maps when open again. Completely blank no routing even though their is an active GPS mapping happening.
