I've observed that when on wifi for a while, my phone loses its mobile network connection. Specifically, no bars, a circle-slash symbol, and doesn't reconnect automatically when I go out of wifi range (e.g., leave home). My best way to reconnect is to toggle airplane mode on and off.
For what it's worth, I'm a Verizon subscriber with physical SIM.
Saw it too, opened a bug ticket (I'm on optimum, provided by T-Mobile, using eSIM). Airplane mode fixed it so far. Though I'm not sure if being on Wi-Fi is the cause or just something masking the issue
