I'm a Z Fold user. Anybody out there currently running the One UI 9 Beta on the S26 series? I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer on. Can anyone tell me if Samsung included the Expanded Dark Theme settings? Curious if we will be getting per-app dark theme settings. If not, I'm going to be **bleep**. That would be truly wild for Samsung to be blocking that AOSP setting which was designed to solve the all or nothing dilemma of the Force Dark Mode for apps in the Developer Options. There's no reason for them block a setting that was designed to not only solve an issue, but put control in the hands of the consumers.
I always presumed whether an app allowed dark/light theme was up to the individual app developer, not the phone manufacturer, which is why some apps have it, and some apps don't. It would not make sense for Samsung to allow it only for some apps and not others.
Android 17 gives users direct control through the new Expanded Dark Theme feature. If a developer hasn't built a native dark theme because they're stuck in the past, users can manually override the developer's preference and force dark mode on a per-app basis in system settings. This gives us control especially to those who have visual impairments where these stupid bright stark white themes are too harsh on their eyes. If Android has built a solve into the core of the OS, it would not make sense for the phone manufacturer to withhold said solve in the settings of their OS skin.
