Messenger troubles with Galaxy Note20

Trouble with Facebook Messenger displaying a full screen white text box while editing text in landscape. Already tried clearing app cache, force stop, and restarting phone; also tried manually wiping the cache partition. Still nothing. Ended up factory resetting and restoring a backup, still no changes.
